15th Myfrenchfilmfestival, With a Top-Class Jury

MyFrenchFilmFestival, the first 100% online French-language film festival, is back for its 15th edition, from 17 January to 17 February 2025. Once again, UNIFRANCE offers an incredible opportunity for cinephiles worldwide to discover the best of Francophone cinema at home. The official selection, which will be announced on 17 January 2025, is made up of 20 films: 10 feature films, 9 of which are in competition and offer a rich and varied panorama of current cinema, and one heritage film, as well as 10 c 10 short films, 9 of which compete in a mix of diversity, daring and creativity, and one animated film, without dialogue, aimed at young audiences.

MyFrenchFilmFestival has established itself as a global festival accessible to all, is a huge international showcase for French-language cinema, available in more than 200 territories, through its platform and more than fifty other platforms associated with the event. This year, all the films in the selection will be in the original French version and subtitled in 8 languages: Arabic, English, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish and Mandarin.

Designed especially for this anniversary edition, the poster is inspired by one of the films in the program and reflects the boldness and creativity of French-speaking cinema.

For this year’s edition, MyFrenchFilmFestival has selected a high-level international Jury, which will be responsible for choosing the Grand Jury Prize from among the feature films in the competition. The prize is worth €15,000, to be shared equally between the director, the producer, and the sales agent of the winning film. The members of the International Jury of this 15th edition are the French-Iranian actress, producer and director Zar Amir (Holy Spider, 2022); the American-Danish actor and director Viggo Mortensen; the French actress and director Noémie Merlant; the Swedish director, screenwriter and producer Tarik Saleh (Cairo Conspiracy, 2022) and the Russian director and screenwriter Andrey Zvyagintsev.

In addition, the International Press Jury will award a prize to a feature film from the competition at the end of the festival. The foreign journalists on the Jury are: Elisabeth Vincentelli (The New York Times – United States; Yuko Tanaka (Kinema Junpo – Japan); Boyd van Hoeij (Screen International – United Kingdom); Marco Consoli (independent journalist – Italy) and Gonzalo Lira (El Heraldo TV – Mexico).

The content creators’ jury will also be responsible for judging and awarding a short film from the competition. The three film content creators on this Jury are Shruti Nagesh (@thecinemastories); Alejandro Chávez (@jorandro_); and Jovan Vasiljević (@cinematologist).

The 18 films in the competition are also in the running for the Audience Awards, for one feature film and one short film from the competition. Festival-goers can vote directly on MyFrenchFilmFestival.com, up to and including 17 February.

MyFrenchFilmFestival is organized by Unifrance (UNIFRANCE.ORG), an organization created in 1949 and dedicated to the promotion of French cinema and audiovisual works abroad. Based in Paris, Unifrance has around fifty partners, as well as representatives in the United States, China, and Japan. The association currently brings together more than 1,000 professionals from the French film and audiovisual industry (producers, artists, agents, sales agents, etc.), who work together to promote French films and audiovisual content to audiences, professionals and the media worldwide.
